South Yosemite recap Oct. 30, 2012
West moved up to 461 from 494 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in South Yosemite. The Vikings were able to make move up by topping Mira Monte 35-13.
West took down the Lions 35-13 last week, the largest margin of any game. STANLEY DUBARD in the win.
South's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Perez Eddy threw for 214 and two touchdowns and Belt Jesse had 149 yards receiving. On the ground Duke Tarrell chipped in 102 yards. Dirden Johnny helped South's passing attack out by catching one ball for 60 yards.
Rea Armando made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Rebels beat Golden Valley. The 6-foot-2 senior forced one fumble, recorded one fumble and grabbed one sack.
The Bulldogs' Alexander Soto and Demetric Fair have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Soto has thrown for 1635 yards this season, while Fair, a 5-foot-8 receiver, has 46 catches for 764 yards. Kamari Cotton-moya from Ridgeview leads the league in rushing with 1170 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Wolf Pack take on Golden Valley. Ridgeview is currently in first, while Erich Smith's team is in fifth.
South led South Yosemite in scoring this week after putting up 42 points on the Bulldogs. Eddy ran for 47 yards in the win.
