The Mitchell Bluejackets waltzed into their matchup Thursday with two straight wins but they left with three. They managed a 47-42 win over Franklin County.
Franklin County's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isaiah Kemp, who scored 12 points. Those 12 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Dozier, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds.
Mitchell's victory bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Franklin County, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mitchell and Paoli will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Paoli presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Mitchell in Indiana (Paoli is ranked 71st, while Mitchell is ranked 201st). Franklin County will finish 2023 at home by hosting Oldenburg Academy at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
