After flying high against the Palestine-Wheatley Patriots two weeks ago, The Osceola Seminoles came back down to earth. Osceola took a 32-22 hit to the loss column at the hands of Walnut Ridge on Friday. Osceola was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Walnut Ridge apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.
Osceola's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Jeremiah Jacobs, who rushed for 118 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Bell, who threw for 151 yards and two touchdowns.
Enrique Perez was a one-man wrecking crew for Walnut Ridge as he rushed for 186 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 10.3 yards per carry. Robbie Tate was in the mix too, providing Walnut Ridge with two touchdowns.
Osceola's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Walnut Ridge, their win was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Osceola will square off against Hoxie at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hoxie has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 226 points over their last five contests. As for Walnut Ridge, they will head out on the road to face off against Manila at 6:55 p.m. on Friday.
