The North Park Wildcats were the 41-22 winner over the Prairie Mustangs when they last played one another back in October of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. North Park was beaten by Prairie 49-14 on Saturday. North Park just can't catch a break and has now endured four defeats in a row.
Despite the loss, North Park still got an impressive performance from Gavin Pittington, who rushed for 187 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.5 yards per carry.
Prairie was led to victory by Justin Schreiner and Brennan Bringelson. Schreiner rushed for 89 yards and a touchdown on only six carries, while Bringelson rushed for 135 yards and four touchdowns on only nine carries. Bringelson was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 69 yards.
North Park's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Prairie, their victory bumped their record up to 4-5.
North Park does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Prairie will head out on the road to face off against Hi-Plains at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hi-Plains comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 12 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
