The Kenston Bombers were the 55-8 winner over the Buchtel Griffins when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Kenston fell to Buchtel 41-35.
Several Bombers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Aurora Young, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds. Young continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Angela Kale, who scored two points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Kenston's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Buchtel, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kenston will take on Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Kenston in Ohio (Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy is ranked 98th, while Kenston is ranked 571st). As for Buchtel, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Field at 1:30 p.m.
