Mountain Range is on an eight-game streak of home losses (dating back to last season), Loveland a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. Even though Mountain Range has not done well against Brighton recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way. Mountain Range came out on top against Brighton by a score of 54-42. The win was just what Mountain Range needed coming off of a 70-41 loss in their prior contest.
Mountain Range found their leader in underclassman Delilah Lucero, who scored 16 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds. Lucero is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Josieraye Running Wolf, who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Loveland was just a bucket shy of victory on Saturday and fell 38-37 to Thompson Valley. While losing is never fun, Loveland can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 202nd, while Thompson Valley is ranked 90th).
Mountain Range now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Loveland, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.
