The Ash Fork Spartans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Parker, falling 59-23. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Ash Fork in their matchups with Parker: they've now lost five in a row.
Several Spartans players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Eva Flores, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds. That's the first time this season that Flores pulled down eight or more rebounds. Arlette Sotelo-Ayala was another key contributor, scoring two points.
Ash Fork's defeat dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Parker, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Ash Fork will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Scottsdale Preparatory Academy at 2:00 p.m. on December 27th. Scottsdale Preparatory Academy will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak. As for Parker, they will be playing at home against American Leadership Academy - West Foothills at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. American Leadership Academy - West Foothills will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 226th, while Parker is ranked 85th).
