Baseball Recap: Salpointe Catholic Has No Trouble Against Mica Mountain

While Salpointe Catholic put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Mica Mountain. The Lancers blew past the Thunderbolts 14-0. The result was nothing new for the Lancers, who have now won 14 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Anthony Milo was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Anthony Diaz also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Salpointe Catholic always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mica Mountain only posted an OBP of .250.

Salpointe Catholic's record now sits at 19-3-1. As for Mica Mountain, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 10-11-1 record.

Coming up, Salpointe Catholic will be playing in front of their home fans against Rio Rico at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Lancers 2.6, the Hawks 4) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Mica Mountain, they will head out on the road to take on Sahuaro at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Thunderbolts are facing the Cougars at the right time seeing as the Cougars are stuck on an 11-game losing streak.
