It was a good run, but the Chase County Longhorns unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday. They were beaten by Bridgeport 65-25. Chase County has not had much luck with Bridgeport recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bridgeport to victory, but perhaps none more so than Olivia Loomis-goltl, who scored 21 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Loomis-goltl hasn't dropped below two steals for seven straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Schluterbusch, who scored 16 points along with seven steals.
Chase County now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Bridgeport, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 14-0.
Chase County will head out on the road to face off against Holyoke at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bridgeport, they will face off against Hershey at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hershey will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings (they are ranked 98th, while Bridgeport is ranked 22nd).
