Troy Foster had another great game (as he tends to do), picking up 117 receiving yards and two TDs. His receiving production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 117 receiving yards.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Huntington Beach proved: they limited Foothill to a paltry 0.6 yards per carry. The team can thank Owen Bone for the heroic effort on defense: he. Huntington Beach's ground attack was stronger, having averaged 3.1.
Huntington Beach didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jimmel Champion and Maxx Hopkins. Another thorn in Foothill's side was Gavin Seguin, who picked up 2.5 sacks and made five total tackles (3.0 for loss).
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Crean Lutheran). They claimed a resounding 56-21 victory over La Habra. The result was nothing new for the Saints, who have now won six games by 24 points or more so far this season.
Crean Lutheran's win came from a few key players Huntington Beach will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Caleb Bey, who rushed for 116 yards and a pair of scores on only 12 carries. Ty Johnson was in the mix as well, providing Crean Lutheran with two touchdowns.
One reason for the win was Crean Lutheran's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. Allitoa Nansen was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up 2.5 himself. Johnson got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Huntington Beach's record is now 7-1. As for Crean Lutheran, their record now sits at 8-0.
We should be in store for an exciting game as the two teams have no problem gaining yardage. Huntington Beach has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 374.8 total yards per game. However, it's not like Crean Lutheran struggles in that department as they've been averaging 444 total yards. With a pair of commanding offenses duking it out, the defenses are going to have their work cut out for them.
Huntington Beach suffered a grim 38-14 defeat to Crean Lutheran in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Can the Oilers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
