After a string of seven wins, Leake Academy's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 47-46 to the Simpson Academy Cougars. The Rebels were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.
Several Rebels players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Addie Crowe, who shot 42% from the field on her way to 16 points in addition to five boards and four blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Jenna Allen, who went 5-for-12 to rack up 13 points and seven rebounds.
Leake Academy's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Simpson Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season.
