Voyager is 10-0 against Vance Charter since January of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Voyager Vikings will head out on the road to challenge the Vance Charter Knights at 6:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Voyager comes in on seven and Vance Charter on five.
Voyager put the finishing touches on their eighth blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. They breezed by Eno River on the road to the tune of 67-38. Given Voyager's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 260th, while Eno River is ranked 633rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Voyager got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was David McMillon out in front who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Will Cameron, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, even though Oxford Prep scored an imposing 56 points on Wednesday, Vance Charter still came out on top. Vance Charter strolled past Oxford Prep with points to spare, taking the game 72-56.
Voyager pushed their record up to 13-8 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 34.33 points. As for Vance Charter, their victory bumped their record up to 9-6.
Everything came up roses for Voyager against Vance Charter in their previous meeting on January 2nd as the team secured a 73-38 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Voyager since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
