Last Friday, it was a hard-fought matchup, but Fannin County had to settle for a 5-4 defeat against Pepperell. Meanwhile, Gilmer entered their tilt with Murray County with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Gilmer had just enough and edged Murray County out 4-3.

This is the second loss in a row for Fannin County and nudges their season record down to 0-2. As for Gilmer, their win bumped their record up to 3-0.
