Adding to the longest winning streak in 3A Region 1 this week, T.R. Miller beat Straughn 42-7. The victory was the eighth in a row for the Tigers.
Opp and W.S. Neal played the closest game in the league this week, with Opp eventually emerging with a 27-24 victory.
T.R. Miller's Keion Smith and Kellyn Wynn led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 5-10 quarterback Smith has thrown for 531 yards this season, while Wynn has 8 catches for 204 yards. The Eagles' Quenton Samuels leads the league in rushing yards with 1,954.
Fans will be treated to a premier battle in the secondary when Coach Jamie Riggs' team's Wynn goes up against W.S. Neal's Quantae Barksdale.
One of 3A Region 1's premier quarterbacks will face off with its top pass rusher when the Tigers and Doug Hoehn's team face off next week.
Next week's game between T.R. Miller and the Eagles will feature a good passing match up as Smith will test his arm against Barksdale's defensive ability.
The Bobcats are currently in third, while the Tigers are in second.
There should be lots of points scored when W.S. Neal and the Tigers face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Eagles comes in having scored 243 this season, while T.R. Miller has scored 269. W.S. Neal scored 24 points last week as it fell to Opp.
The Tigers took down Straughn 42-7 last week, the largest margin of any game.
