Wayne has gone 8-2 against Palmyra-Macedon recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Eagles will venture away from home to face off against the Red Raiders at 5:00 p.m. Wayne is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.
The scorekeeper got an easy start on Friday as neither Wayne nor Greece Odyssey made it on the board until the sixth inning. The Eagles never let the Leopards get on the board and left with a 6-0 victory. Considering the Eagles have won four matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Myia Eskander was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Eskander was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jessy Newmyer, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Sophie Armstrong also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Wayne kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4.5 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 9.6.
Meanwhile, Palmyra-Macedon entered their tilt with Wayne on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 10-7. While the Red Raiders didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-12), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
Like Wayne, Palmyra-Macedon also got a great game from a two-way player: Briana VanHaneghan. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. VanHaneghan was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
In other batting news, Addi Gendron was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more hits the last three times she's played. Elianna Rouland was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Wayne is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Palmyra-Macedon, they pushed their record up to 7-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Wayne has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Palmyra-Macedon struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Wayne came up short against Palmyra-Macedon when the teams last played on Thursday, falling 10-7. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
