Basketball Recap: Tucker's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

Tucker was the 70-61 winner over St. Pius X Catholic when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Tigers fell 72-61 to the Golden Lions on Tuesday. The game marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Adarian Johnson, who shot 63% from the field en route to 13 points and five boards. Johnson has been hot recently, having also posted two or more blocks the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Sterling Pritchett, who went 5-for-12 on his way to 12 points and four steals.

With the loss, Tucker broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-2. As for St. Pius X Catholic, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Coming up, Tucker will square off against North Springs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers will be up against the Spartans' rather soft defense (which has allowed 67 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for St. Pius X Catholic, they will take on Southwest DeKalb at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Golden Lions' defense better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 69.7 points per game this season.
