South Pasadena extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 7-12. They lost 16-6 to the Monrovia Wildcats. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, with their most recent loss being a 8-0 defeat back in April.
South Pasadena saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Racquel Dominguez, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double. Talula Bearden was another, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.
As for Monrovia, their victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-9-1. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 matchups by six runs or more this season.
On Monrovia's side, Carly Polanco made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Polanco has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with three runs and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Madison Cardona was incredible, going 3-for-4 with six RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Mischa Lue-Long, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
South Pasadena didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 3-1 defeat against Temple City on the 4th. As for Monrovia, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, an 8-4 win against San Marino on the 4th.
