The Alexandria-Monroe Tigers will take on the Knightstown Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Alexandria-Monroe barely beat Daleville the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Tigers blew past the Broncos 13-3 on Monday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.
Landyn Fletcher looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Mason Fuller and Owen May did most of the damage at the plate: Fuller got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while May went 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. Fuller has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Adrian Smith, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Alexandria-Monroe always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Daleville only posted an OBP of .409.
Meanwhile, Knightstown's rock-solid pitchers showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout on Tuesday. They never let Northeastern get on the board and left with an 11-0 win.
Carter Gossett tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over five innings pitched.
At the plate, Knightstown let Jackson Daves and Travis Louks run wild. Daves went 2-for-3 with three runs and one RBI, while Louks went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That double marked the first that Louks has hit this season.
Alexandria-Monroe's record is now 7-2. As for Knightstown, their victory was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-0.
Wednesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Alexandria-Monroe has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .489. However, it's not like Knightstown struggles in that department as they've averaged .494. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Alexandria-Monroe took their win against Knightstown in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 10-4 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
