It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Balmorhea Bears can now relate to. They were beaten by the Cougars 100-62 on Friday. Balmorhea's defeat signaled the end of their ten-game winning streak.
Klondike's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jared Quintanilla, who rushed for 115 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 171 yards and three touchdowns while completing 87.5% of his passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Creed Warren, who rushed for 84 yards and four touchdowns.
Balmorhea's loss dropped their record down to 10-3. As for Klondike, they have yet to lose a game at home this season, leaving them with a 11-1 record.
Balmorhea does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Klondike will square off against Benjamin at TBD on Friday. Benjamin is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
