After having lost a blowout in their previous game against North Kingstown, the Cranston West Falcons were happy to have found some success on Wednesday. They managed a 56-50 win over East Providence. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Cranston West also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Cranston West's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kyla Buco, who scored 19 points along with five steals. Buco has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Olivia Tedeschi-Moran, who scored 13 points along with six assists and two steals.
Cranston West's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-5. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.3 points per game. As for East Providence, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-8.
Cranston West will head out on the road to challenge St. Mary Academy-Bay View at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Mary Academy-Bay View will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak. As for East Providence, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Barrington at 6:00 p.m. Barrington is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games.
