The Southampton Mariners's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their tenth straight defeat. They were dealt a 73-27 loss at the hands of Bayport-Blue Point. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Southampton in their matchups with Bayport-Blue Point: they've now lost six in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Southampton lost, one person who can't be blamed is Daelyn Palmore. Despite the final result, she scored 21 points.
Southampton dropped their record down to 1-15 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Bayport-Blue Point, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-1.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Mount Sinai the next time they take the court. Southampton will head out to face Mount Sinai at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Bayport-Blue Point will host them at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
