It was a good run, but the Phalen Leadership Academy Falcon unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 76-65 hit to the loss column at the hands of Columbus HomeSchool. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
When it comes to explaining why Phalen Leadership Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Derek Callahan. Despite the final result, he scored 21 points along with six rebounds and four blocks. Callahan hasn't dropped below two blocks for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Brenton Smith, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds.
Phalen Leadership Academy struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Columbus HomeSchool racked up 12 assists.
Kaden Greenlee was his usual excellent self, scoring 34 points along with five steals for Columbus HomeSchool. Greenlee has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last seven times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of David Cline, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Phalen Leadership Academy's loss dropped their record down to 12-9. As for Columbus HomeSchool, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Phalen Leadership Academy will take on the Lions at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Columbus HomeSchool, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on February 5th.
