The biggest upset of the week belonged to Nemaha Valley, who took down 80th ranked Hiawatha, 27-21. Caleb Meyer ran for seven yards in the win.
Jefferson West was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fifth to third in Big Seven. The Tigers vanquished Royal Valley 20-8 earlier in the week.
Brandon Eddy provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Perry-Lecompton lost to Holton. He completed two passes for 39 yards and also ran for 53 yards. Eddy's favorite target this week was Riley Davis, who caught two passes for 75 yards.
Tanner Ranieri was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 15 carries, he ran for 84 yards as the Raiders lost to the Wildcats.
Perry-Lecompton's Seth Surface and Davis have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Surface has thrown for 611 yards this season, while Davis, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 20 catches for 307 yards. Holton's Drake Ewing leads the league in rushing yards with 469.
A big matchup in Big Seven this week will be when Brooks Barta's team takes on Jefferson West. The Wildcats are currently in first, while Steve Johnson's team is in third.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Holton takes on the Tigers. The Wildcats have allowed 55 points this season, while Jefferson West has given up 46. Holton allowed 19 points last week as it topped Mike Paramore's team.
The Wildcats extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Kaws, 55-19. The win marks fifth in a row for the Holton.
