Patrick Henry suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Saturday. They were dealt a 100-42 defeat at the hands of Madison Prep Academy. While losing is never fun, Patrick Henry can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 250th in Minnesota, while Madison Prep Academy is ranked first in Louisiana).
Meanwhile, even though Brooklyn Center scored an imposing 69 points on Monday, Roosevelt still came out on top. Roosevelt secured a 73-69 W over Brooklyn Center. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Roosevelt.
Roosevelt's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Calvin Peterson led the charge by scoring 25 points along with six rebounds. Avery Wells was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds.
Patrick Henry bumped their record down to 2-8 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Roosevelt, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.
Patrick Henry won a match that couldn't have been any closer when the teams last played back in January of 2023, slipping by Roosevelt 55-54. Does Patrick Henry have another victory up their sleeve, or will Roosevelt turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
