Basketball Game Preview: Klahowya Eagles vs. Cascade Christian Cougars

Klahowya hasn't had much luck against Cascade Christian recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Klahowya Eagles will head out on the road to challenge the Cascade Christian Cougars at 5:30 p.m. Klahowya is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.

Last Friday, Klahowya humbled Charles Wright with a 54-14 victory. The Eagles pushed the score to 51-5 by the end of the third, a deficit the Tarriers cut but never quite recovered from.

Shyanne Kilmer and Caroline Horan were among the main playmakers for Klahowya as the former almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds and the latter went 6 for 10 en route to 14 points and three steals. That's the most points Kilmer has posted since back in November of 2023. Another player making a difference was Bailey O'Brien, who posted five points along with eight assists and eight boards.

Klahowya smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 16 offensive rebounds in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Cascade Christian was able to grind out a solid victory over Fife on Wednesday, taking the game 32-21. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cougars.

Klahowya's win ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-12. As for Cascade Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season.

Klahowya was dealt a bruising 68-37 defeat at the hands of Cascade Christian when the teams last played back in January. Can Klahowya avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
