Even though the Simeon Wolverines scored an imposing 56 points on Friday, the Houston Mustangs still came out on top. Houston managed a 62-56 victory over Simeon. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Houston.
Houston's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jordan Myles, who scored 20 points. That's the first time this season that Myles scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Keron Jackson, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds and six assists.
Houston now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Simeon, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 4-5.
Houston will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Bartlett at 7:30 p.m. on January 2, 2024. Simeon won't have much time to rest: their next match is against First Assembly Christian at 2:00 p.m. on December 16th. First Assembly Christian presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Simeon in their respective states (First Assembly Christian is ranked 11th in Tennessee, while Simeon is ranked 172nd in Illinois).
