Having just played yesterday, the Damien Spartans will jump right back in to play the San Clemente Tritons at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
Damien is headed into Saturday's game hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight defeats. They took a hard 56-39 fall against Etiwanda on Friday. While the Spartans didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Eagles 15-6 in the first quarter.
Meanwhile, San Clemente earned a 48-40 win over Tesoro on Friday.
Damien better focus on containing Christian Fernandez and Porter Hansen as the pair were huge in San Clemente's win. Fernandez went 7 of 12 on his way to 18 points along with five rebounds and three steals, while Hansen went 7 for 15 en route to 19 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Tolliver, who posted six points and ten boards.
Damien's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-8. As for San Clemente, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season.
