Forest (Miss.) snapped
McLaurin (Florence, Miss.)'s 7-game winning streak, with a 47-19 victory on Saturday.
The Bearcats were up 27-7 at the half after taking the lead on a touchdown run by
Chris Mazique in the first quarter.
Forest expanded its lead to 27 points entering the fourth quarter. FHS's lone score in the quarter came on a touchdown pass by
Luke Reynolds to
Chad Kincaid.

Eric McGee played well. The senior running back ran for one touchdown. His performance brought his touchdown total to 16 on the year.
The Bearcats' most effective player was Mazique. The junior running back ran for two touchdowns. He has now scored 10 touchdowns on the season.
McLaurin came in surrendering 15.3 points per game this season. MHS struggled against Forest's offense, which entered the game scoring 26.0 points per game.
A 49-17 Forest victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.
The loss comes after McLaurin defeated Raleigh 21-14 last week. With the win the Bearcats extended their winning streak to three games.
In a 3A Region 6 game next week Forest (4-4) takes on St. Andrews Episcopal, and McLaurin (7-2) will go up against East Union in a non-conference game.
