It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Christ the King Cathedral Golden Lions ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They managed a 71-66 win over Lubbock T. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Lubbock T lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Curtis Caudillo, who scored 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Issac Kelly, who scored 14 points.
Christ the King Cathedral is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season. As for Lubbock T, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Christ the King Cathedral is on the road again on Friday and play against Plainview Christian at 6:00 p.m. on January 5th. Plainview Christian comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 23 points in their last four games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Lubbock T, they will head out on the road to face off against Panhandle Christian Home Educators at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Panhandle Christian Home Educators' favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last nine matchups.
