Hononegah is 9-1 against Freeport since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Indians are taking a road trip to challenge the Pretzels at 4:30 p.m. Hononegah is coming into the game hot, having won their last six games.
Hononegah's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They put the hurt on Biggsville West Central with a sharp 12-0 win. The Indians might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by six runs or more this season.

Zoie Calhoun made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, she posted four strikeouts, the most she's had since back in April. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Kaelyn Kelly was a standout: she got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April. Peyton Klikno was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Freeport, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They came out on top against Rockford Auburn by a score of 6-3 on Friday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Pretzels as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.
Diem Beach spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on three hits and racked up seven Ks.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Quinn Krzeminiski, who fired off two home runs and three runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
Hononegah's record now sits at 20-3. As for Freeport, their record is now 7-20.
Hononegah was able to grind out a solid win over Freeport in their previous meeting back in April, winning 12-7. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Indians since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
