Hudsonville has gone 9-1 against West Ottawa recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Eagles will look to defend their home field against the Panthers at 4:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Hudsonville 3.8, West Ottawa 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Hudsonville's hitters will try to repeat the strong performance they gave on Saturday, when they got past Zeeland East's usually-dominant pitching crew. The Eagles blew past the Chix 11-1. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won four games by nine runs or more so far this season.
Connor Garzelloni looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits.

At the plate, Hudsonville let Brady Schutter and Harrison Phillips run wild. Schutter went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Phillips went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those three RBI gave Schutter a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Braylon Miller, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.
Meanwhile, West Ottawa had already won three in a row and they went ahead and made it four on Saturday. They came out on top against the Huskies by a score of 9-5.
Braylon Cates looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Miguel Mejia, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Trevyn Bethke was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
Hudsonville's win bumped their record up to 7-4-1. As for West Ottawa, their victory bumped their record up to 9-5.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Hudsonville has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like West Ottawa struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Hudsonville got the 'W' when the teams last played back in April of 2025 against West Ottawa by a conclusive 6-0 score. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
