The Milton Panthers will take on the Niceville Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Milton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.

Last Monday, Milton came up short against Lighthouse Private Christian Academy and fell 8-5. The loss was the Panthers' first of the season.

Milton saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jake Albrecht, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Niceville put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Navarre an 11-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won three matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

Brady Martin looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, Deacon Avery was excellent, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs. The team also got some help courtesy of CJ Bolden, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Niceville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .621. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Navarre only posted an OBP of .238.

Niceville's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Milton, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Milton has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Niceville struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.5 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
