3A - North recap October 22, 2013
Morgan added to the longest winning streak in 3A - North this week by beating North Sanpete, 35-0. This was the team's seventh consecutive win.
Carbon lost to Richfield 63-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Marco Mota was a passing and rushing force as Emery beat Canyon View.
Derrick Dawes made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Spartans bested the Falcons. The 6-foot-1 senior grabbed 2 sacks.

Tye Winterton threw for 271 yards and 3 touchdowns. He went 11-30 with 4 interceptions.
Nic Smith was the best wideout in the league this week as Union fell to Juab. Smith tallied 5 receptions for 201 yards. Gavin Nielsen helped Union's passing attack out by catching 5 balls for 53 yards.
Union's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Cougars feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Winterton has thrown for 1,365 yards and 13 touchdowns this season, while Smith has 25 catches for 648 yards.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Morgan takes on second place Judge Memorial. Morgan defeated the Hawks last week, while Judge Memorial topped Manti.
The Cougars' Nielsen is a mere 80 yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season. Nielsen has rushed for 920 yards on 136 carries so far this year.
The Bulldogs' offense has racked up 345 points this season, earning them the top spot in the league, while Kovi Christiansen's team has allowed only 72 on the year.
One of 3A - North's premier quarterbacks will go head-to-head with its top pass rusher when Union and the Cowboys face off next week.
