With a playoff win on the line, Massapequa rose to the challenge on Sunday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Connetquot T-Birds a 7-0 shutout. That looming 7-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Chiefs yet this season.

Anthony Dinello was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one triple. Those RBI were his first of the season. John Neary was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

The win made it two in a row for Massapequa and bumps their season record up to 4-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Connetquot, with the defeat, they broke their ten-game winning streak and moved their record to 19-3.

As of now, neither Massapequa nor the T-Birds have any future games scheduled.
