After both having extra time off, the Centerville Bulldogs and the Ben Davis Giants will dust off their jerseys to face off against one another at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.
Last Saturday, Centerville humbled Knightstown with a 77-37 victory. The contest marked the Bulldogs' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Centerville found their leader in freshman Jace Hollendonner, who went 10 of 15 on his way to 24 points along with five boards and four steals. With that strong performance, Hollendonner is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Landyn Keiser, who went 5 of 11 en route to 14 points and four steals.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Ben Davis). They walked away with a 65-58 win over Brownsburg last Saturday. Given the Giants' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 54th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 259th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Ben Davis' win came from a few key players Centerville will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Tavion Williams, who went 6 of 8 on his way to 12 points. He has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jashawn Ladd, who went 6 of 9 en route to 16 points.
Ben Davis was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Brownsburg only posted five assists.
Centerville pushed their record up to 5-2 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Ben Davis, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.
Thursday's game is shaping up to be a masterclass in shooting: Centerville just can't miss this season, having nailed 50.2% of their field goals per game. However, it's not like Ben Davis struggles in that department as they've made 51% of their field goals this season. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out. Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more basketball content.
