The Roaring Fork Rams's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They fell 57-50 to Meeker. Roaring Fork was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Meeker apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Roaring Fork's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carly Crownhart, who scored 17 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Nikki Tardif, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 15 rebounds.
Meeker had a senior duo take command as Ellie Hossack scored 17 points along with three steals and Ainsley Selle scored 17 points along with eight rebounds. That's the first time this season that Selle pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Charlie Rogers, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Roaring Fork's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-3. As for Meeker, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.
Roaring Fork will head out on the road to challenge Cedaredge at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Cedaredge focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 last Tuesday. As for Meeker, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Olathe at 5:30 p.m. Hopefully Olathe focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 last Friday.
