Wabash is 0-6 against Huntington North since April of 2015 but things could change on Monday. The Apaches will be playing at home against the Vikings at 5:00 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
While Wabash's win against Marion wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Apaches won by a run and slipped past the Giants 6-5. The victory continues a trend for the Apaches in their matchups with the Giants: they've now won nine in a row.

Haiden McWhirt made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off eight hits (and only one walk). He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Wabash is 2-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 2-3 otherwise. McWhirt was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That run was his first of the season.
McWhirt wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Dominic Baker, who went 2-for-5 with one run and one RBI.
The home team had won the previous three meetings between Huntington North and Warsaw, and Huntington North kept the tradition alive. The Vikings skirted past the Tigers 4-3.
Caiden Pohler tossed a big game, pitching 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Tyler Williams was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Brodee Swaidner was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double.
Wabash pushed their record up to 4-4 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.7 runs over those games. As for Huntington North, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Wabash suffered a grim 11-1 defeat to Huntington North when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Will the Apaches have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more baseball content.
