Wood River and Mountain Home are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2021, but likely not for long. The Wolverines will welcome the Tigers at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wood River will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.
Wood River barely beat Jerome the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Wolverines blew past the Tigers 14-4 on Saturday. Considering the Wolverines have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Wood River got a massive performance out of Alex Golub, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Golub has become a key player for the Wolverines: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 3-6 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Everett Carden, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Mountain Home hadn't done well against Minico recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Tigers walked away with a 7-3 win over the Spartans. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.
Nehemiah Lyle looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Easton Vivier was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Landon Keener was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
Wood River pushed their record up to 9-6 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Mountain Home, their victory bumped their record up to 11-6.
Wood River couldn't quite get it done against Mountain Home when the teams last played back in May of 2024 as they fell 10-5. Will the Wolverines have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
