Basketball Recap: Brookelyn Watts and Reagan Davis Secure Win for Palmer

There's no place like home for Palmer, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They managed a 56-50 win over the Blooming Grove Lions on Friday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Bulldogs as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Leading Palmer to victory were Reagan Davis and Brookelyn Watts. Davis posted 12 points along with seven assists and five rebounds, while Watts dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten boards. That's the most assists Davis has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenli Dobie, who went 5 of 9 on her way to 12 points.

Palmer smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in eight consecutive contests.

Palmer's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-21. As for Blooming Grove, they dropped their record down to 16-11 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Palmer has already played their next match (against Scurry-Rosser), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Blooming Grove will be playing in front of their home fans against Keene at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Blooming Grove is facing Keene at the right time seeing as Keene is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
