On Saturday, things could have been worse for Academy Charter, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 61-43 loss to Central.
Academy Charter lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jovani Dorismond , who scored nine points along with eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam McQueen, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds.
Central can attribute much of their success to Malachi Thomas, who scored 18 points. Another player making a difference was Malik Bass, who scored 15 points.
Academy Charter now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Central, they pushed their record up to 2-0 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.
Academy Charter will head out on the road to face off against St. Mary's at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Central, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome West Side at 7:00 p.m. on December 19th.
