Dalton took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Fieldston Eagles 3-2. The Tigers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Eagles, too.
Jackson Herzog made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out 13 batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Herzog was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Herzog wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Chase Nelson, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI Nelson has posted since back in April of 2024.
Coincidentally, Dalton and Fieldston will both be playing Trinity the next time they take the field. The Tigers will head out to face the Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Eagles will head out to face them at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.
