North Central opened the new year with a less-than-successful 70-66 loss to they. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Wednesday (64), they still had to take the loss.
When it comes to explaining why North Central lost, one person who can't be blamed is Dylan Smith. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 34 points and 14 rebounds. The contest was Smith's 12th in a row with at least ten points. Jahleel Gaines was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
North Central's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-6. As for Lewisville, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Central will take on Chesterfield at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Lewisville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against C.A. Johnson at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. C.A. Johnson will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 209th, while Lewisville is ranked 69th).
