Hudson added to the longest winning streak in Northeast Ohio - Valley this week by beating Stow-Munroe Falls, 20-7. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.
Strongsville scaled the state rankings by moving to 123 from 180 this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Mustangs were able to move up by besting Medina 38-13.
Mentor's dynamic duo of Conner Krizancic and Eddie Daugherty proved to be unstoppable against Shaker Heights, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Krizancic threw for 186 yards and 2 touchdowns and Daugherty had 108 yards receiving. Corey Plavcan helped Mentor's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 50 yards.
He went 14-24 with 0 interceptions.
6-foot-4 quarterback Steven Ficyk of Brunswick is the league leader in passing yards this season with 941. He has also thrown 5 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Colton Whited. The Hudson star has 26 catches for 400 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Hudson takes on Solon. Ron Wright's team is in first place, while the Comets are in fourth place.
There should be lots of points scored when the Cardinals and the Blue Devils face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Mentor comes in having scored 235 this season, while Brunswick has scored 214. Steve Trivisonno's team scored 56 points last week as it beat the Red Raiders.
The Cardinals took down Shaker Heights 56-14 last week, the largest margin of any game. Krizancic ran for 118 yards during the win.
