The Lakeside Panthers came tearing into Friday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 points) and they left with even more momentum. They skirted past Brunswick 49-46. 49 seems to be a good number for Lakeside as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Asunti Porter continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 22 points along with four steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Lakeside's points. Kobi Barnes was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Several Pirates players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jermiyah Ramsey, who scored 19 points. Another player making a difference was Lauryn Walker, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds.
Lakeside's victory bumped their record up to 12-2. As for Brunswick, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-7 record this season.
Lakeside won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Glynn Academy at 2:00 p.m. on January 6th. Hopefully Glynn Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Friday. Brunswick won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Evans at 2:00 p.m. on January 6th. Hopefully Evans focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Friday.
