After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Heights, the Southeast Golden Buffalo were happy to have found some success on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 58-41 win over North. Given Southeast's advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 128th, while North is ranked 312th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Ma'khiyah Jones, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 17 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Southeast's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alana Webb, who scored 15 points along with five steals.
Southeast's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for North, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-6.
Southeast will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against South at 6:00 p.m. As for North, they will head out on the road to face off against East at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
