The Central Cambria Red Devils suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Wednesday. They took a serious blow against Chestnut Ridge, falling 74-42. While losing is never fun, Central Cambria can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 229th, while Chestnut Ridge is ranked 66th).
Several Red Devils players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Connor Serenko, who scored 18 points along with five steals. Serenko hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. Another player making a difference was Grady Snyder, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds.
Central Cambria's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Chestnut Ridge, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season.
Central Cambria the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Hollidaysburg at 7:15 p.m. on January 19th. As for Chestnut Ridge, they will head out on the road to face off against Philipsburg-Osceola at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
