Softball Recap: Bald Eagle Area Sets Scoring Season-High Against Somerset

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bald Eagle Area). Their pitcher stepped up to hand Somerset a 16-0 shutout on Wednesday. Bald Eagle Area might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by six runs or more this season.

The result came thanks to Sierra Albright's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Raelee Repasky was a standout: she went 2-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Maelee Yoder, who went 1-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Bald Eagle Area hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least three batters in six consecutive matchups.

Bald Eagle Area is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. As for Somerset, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.
