After losing to Sunbright the last time they met, Wartburg Central decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Wartburg Central took the match and then some with a 58-14 win on Friday over Sunbright. Wartburg Central were expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
The victory bumped Wartburg Central's record up to 2-3. Sunbright are still searching for that first win as they fell to 0-5.
Next week Wartburg Central take on Cumberland Gap at 7:30 PM. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous games. As for Sunbright, they will face off against Oakdale. Both teams have had a rocky road up to this point with five consecutive losses for Sunbright and three for Oakdale.
