Sky View hasn't had much luck against Bear River recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Bobcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bears at 3:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Sky View turned things around against Syracuse on Thursday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Titans an 11-0 shutout. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Bobcats considering their one-run performance the game before.
Kade Blair made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run over 5.2 innings pitched. Blair was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with four RBI and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Sky View got a massive performance out of Tucker Stokes, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Stokes also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Rad Sparrow was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double.
Sky View kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. They are 2-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Bear River, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over Park City on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Bears, who have now won six contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Ethan Higgs was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Jackson Barfuss was a standout: he got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs. Another player making a difference was Chipper Hawes, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI and one double.
Bear River's victory bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Sky View, the win was their first on the road, bumping their record up to 2-6.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Sky View has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.4 hits per game. However, it's not like Bear River struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.9 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Sky View suffered a grim 12-2 defeat to Bear River in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Will the Bobcats have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
