Softball Recap: David Crockett Wins Going Away Against Sullivan East

The home team had won the previous three meetings between David Crockett and Sullivan East, and David Crockett kept the tradition alive. Everything went the David Crockett Pioneers' way against the Sullivan East Patriots on Tuesday as the David Crockett Pioneers made off with a 16-1 win. The Pioneers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Patriots, too.

Madelyn Dulaney made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). The dominant performance also gave her a new career-low in earned runs (zero). She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Lacey Whitaker was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Lily Mango, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2.

David Crockett's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Sullivan East, their defeat was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. David Crockett will venture away from home to square off against Unicoi County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Sullivan East, they will head out to face off against Daniel Boone at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
